CHARLOTTE The Carolina Panthers held out of practice Monday after the Pro Bowl wide receiver developed tightness in his hamstring over the weekend.

The injury is not considered serious, Carolina Panthers coach said. It wasn't immediately clear if Smith would return for the final week of summer sessions.

The Panthers could choose to hold Smith out until the players report to training camp in late July, but that will largely depend on how Smith feels today, Fox said.
