EAST GREENBUSH - The Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society will host dog adoption clinics noon-3 p.m. July 8 and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. July 15 at the East Greenbush PetsMart.

BALLSTON SPA - The Ballston Spa Elks Lodge 2619, Route 50, will hold a breakfast buffet 8-11:30 a.m. July 9. Adults, $6; seniors, $5; children, $4; under 5, free.

ALBANY - Food Addicts (FA) is a program of recovery from addictive eating which is based on the Twelve Steps. It is an international fellowship of men and women who have experienced difficulties in life as a result of the way we eat. All who wish to stop eating addictively are welcome. It is free.

ALBANY - The Safety and Health Council will hold a five hour pre-licensing course required by the state Department of Motor Vehicles for applications who want to take a road test for a state driver's license.

The course will be held 4:30-9:30 p.m. July 11, 20 and Aug. 3 at the NENY Safety & Health Council, 45 Colvin Ave. A learner's permit and $40 is required. Pre-registration is required and can be made by calling the council at 438-2365.

HOOSICK FALLS - Group Workcamp 2007 is having a bottle/can drive 9 a.m.-noon July 8 at The First Baptist Church, 80 Main St. Drop off bottles and cans in the parking lot at the rear of the church. Pick up can also be arranged by calling Lorraine Brownell at 686-7737 or the church office at 686-5779.

The proceeds will benefit Group Workcamp 2007, a non profit project providing free home repairs and maintenance to elderly, disabled, and less fortunate residents in July 2007.

BERLIN - Grafton Girl Scout Troop 002 will be sponsoring a defensive driving course 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 5 at the Berlin United Methodist Church, South Main Street. The cost is $40 per person. A hot/cold lunch buffet will be available from the girl scouts, a donation would be appreciated as the troop is fund-raising for a council approved trip to Disney.

EAST GREENBUSH - The East Greenbush Continuing Education program announces the next available Six-Hour Insurance/Point Reduction course. The Six-Hour Driver Training Associates Insurance/Point Reduction course will be held 6-9 p.m. Aug. 15 and 22. Course registration for all classes must be made in advance, as no walk-ins will be accepted. Additional class information will be given at time of registration.
