The Five-Hour Pre-Licensing course will be held 6-8:30 p.m. Sept. 19 and 26. The Six-Hour Driver Training Associates Insurance/Point Reduction course will be held 6-9 p.m. Sept. 25 and 27. BRUNSWICK - Brunswick Community Library is offering a defensive driving class for insurance discounts and point reduction 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Brunswick Community Center, Keyes Lane, off Route 7. TROY - The BookCellar at the Troy Public Library, 100 Second St., will resume Saturday hours beginning Sept. 9. The BookCellar, organized and maintained by The Friends of the Troy Public Library is open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the first Saturday of each month. Gently used books, fiction and non-fiction, are offered at bargain prices, most hardbound editions are 50 cents; paperbacks are 25 cents.

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Military artist Don Troiani will be speaking and signing his newest book, "Don Troiani's American Battles: The Art of the Nation at War, 1754-1865," at noon Sept. 9 at the New York State Military Museum, 61 Lake Ave. Reenactors in period dress, refreshments and period music will be part of the event celebrating Troiani's latest book and his visit to the Military Museum.

SCHENECTADY - Schenectady County Public Library, 99 Clinton St., will hold six 90-minute sessions, "Together: Book Talk for Kids and Parents" designed to help families get more out of their reading experience.
